WATER HYACINTH
DESCRIPTION PROJECT
The water hyacinth (Eichomia crassipes) is a floating plant, an exotic species, which grows in many Asian countries. It is a pest with an enormous vigour. It sufficates lakes causing everything else to die. The plant also obstructs sewers and waterways.
WHY IS THIS A SUSTAINABLE PRODUCT?
By collecting this prolific plant, life returns to the lakes and rivers. The ecosystem can slowly recover.
The water management in these tropical countries will improve if we can remove these plants from the sewers and canals. It will also improve the health of the population.
CERTIFICALTION
Anyone who has ever been in Southeast Asia is familiar with the problems created by the water hyacinth. They understand that removing this plant is worthwhile. Certification of this production process, therefore, seems pointless to us and will only increases the cost price of the product.
WHERE DO THESE PLANTS GROW?
This plant originates from the Amazone in South America, Brasil.
